Been running around and eating alot, too much indeed, when there is a desire to get the tummy shed. Tomorrow going to YIH so that lunch can be at Munchie Monkeys, when today was spent in Engin's cafe. Finally confirmed, through convergence of multiple bad experiences, that my brain is allergic to some coffee chemical, that causes extreme discomfort around the temples and induce drowsiness, yes, drowsiness! But that was a nice place, save for the generous dosage of small talk (a cafe, wad u expect) and ice-blending-grrring every five minutes, but the place was furnished with several my-leg-length couches that serve as perfect restposts that allow a full calf stretch. One could look out the window from where I sat and admire the simple beauty of the leafy canopy of the tall tree outside that served as shade as well. The biggest attraction was that it was airconned, great escape from the crazy weather!
Here's an attempt to think critically.
Topic: Evaluation of Chinese Project
Encountered Problems:
Poor communication among members - Dissemination of info was asymmetrical, such that only half the group knew what was going on perpetually the whole time, and apparently, the discussion forum specially set up did not serve its purpose, not to mention emails. The network service was not actively engaged, such that news updates were almost obsolete when finally read by the intended recipients.
Solution - The traditional cell phone messaging was resorted to, classic and simple, and it worked!
Personality Clash - Different values, different priorities, different working methods, different things that make us tick. Almost suffered from cardiac arrest in the many attempts to manipulate and tame those aching-to-contort facial muscles, substitute disbelief for awe, and throw the vulgarities away for polite persuasive soft vocabulary, slicked thick with diabetes-inducing carbohydrates.
Solution - This is what makes up an interesting and challenging world!
Poor data gathering - The sampling was badly done, in the wrong proportions with rich but complicated material. We weren't too diligent or stringent with the quality of our surveyees and their answers.
Solution - Good attempt at data analysis, a nice way to make up!
Haphazard Presentation - It was a total mess, but not yet a flop, as far as can be seen. Not much coherence, since it was all in a rush, and inevitably interweaved with stammers and slurring. But a reali invigorating experience, after all the mundanities of school.
Solution - It's all over from here onwards!
Despite the unpleasantness, there were really some memorable and fun times, like how three of us trekked around the faculty for the lecturer, and raced against each other; how I got to know a friend much better, through the various de-stressing fruit session after meetings.
An onbervation: Hair on head greys much earlier than that on arms.
