Postrauma

Chaos of the weather, heat of Sahara, loss of the sheep, we conquered that, miraculously, cheers!

Yesterday's badminton tournament was a mess, with screw-ups, tonnes of them, but it was worth the effort-a wholly new and exhilarating experience, not to mention traumatic-maybe my threshold for excitement is too low.

Things learnt:
- organisation, foresight and a well-thought plan are important
- organisation is important
- organisation is really Important!!
- trust, cooperativity are important too

Memorables:
- the seeming aloof shepherd rounding up lost sheep
- the diligent and patient and wonderfully dedicated scoremaster, yay man
- the hard-earned 3 points against the wonderful Viet gals, and the reverberating yells of partner and me
- the friendly and helpful Viet girls who tried to help out with some of our screw-ups, having had a tournament of their own just a week before
- the tolerant players who had to put up with the ridiculous mess and spontaneous arrangements
- the squeezes on the arm given among us when we felt we would just collapse together and cry or run away or dig a hole to bury our heads
- the fun but stessful umpiring, especially of 2 crucial matches, one even ending with a deuce

This done and aside, I'm on a whole new path-to work! Some income at last, yay!
