Life's been a blur this few days; feel like I've been thrown back three years ago-leading the impossibly exhausting life of jc. Viele viele Arbeiten, aber keine Zeit!
Brought up thought of resigning to boss today; wasn't that hard actually. Didn't feel any pang of loss whatsoever, that i thought i would. Too much to bear-the constant facial exercises, non-stop vocal projection, repetitive lines, and most of all, the overall morale. Everyone i worked with when i first started, especially the younger ones, are all contemplating leaving, or had left liao. Nothing to stay for, except for Sake's sake lol.
Hey, the kid laughed today, a soft one, but genuine and hearty. The first i ever heard from her. Good. And she looked healthier, rosy and well-rested, unlike the sullen face with eyerings darker than mine. Rate is still difficult for her; nevermind, we are progressing nonetheless; just guilty that i've to enforce rote learning-gave her a set of rules to follow, instead of getting her to understand. The easy way out, after 5h of trying. Promised her we'll have games next week; Have to start inventing some. But she seems to feel that games in lesson is bad; she didn't respond enthu-ly when i told her about the plan. Not sure she was stifling her response or that she really isn't the games kind. We'll see how, next week.
Went back to prac today; totally off-track. Sight-reading abandoned me, after months of disuse; inflexibility set in, a sign of ageing, as is snail-paced networking between brain and body parts. Felt lousy. And that a low morale is settling in too. Half-empty room, the music hitting hollowly against the bare walls, coming back in confusion and disarray. No particular excitement in seeing the people; just a nagging thought that i'm far back, needa catch up.
